Storyboards Round 2

A day late, dollar short and whatnot. I'm pretty glad to be done with this second round of boards, and though I know a lot still needs to be changed/improved, I think the story flows a lot better in this version, and I was able to understand/apply more visual techniques (with tons of help from Mandrews and friends!)

I can't wait to move on to Round 3! And I really can't wait to pitch all of this!

Any observations, comments, concerns? Let me know what you think!

    Omg, this is so awesome!
Definitely improved from the previous version.

The teacher comes off almost mean spirited in the way he picks her to sing, as punishment for being late.
And the old man's words are so kind and inspiring.
That last panel at the end of her singing all grown up is a nice ending, though I wonder if the old man would still be alive to hear it.

I'm undecided over what I like better, V2 or V3. I like the effects of the big lights in 2, but the view in 3 being higher above her head makes her appear smaller before the crowd.

But I must say above all else, wonderful stuff! =D

  4. Only one correction, a typo, but it's pretty important since it's on your first screen. The Thoreau quote has "sonog" instead of what I assume you meant to be "song."

    Loe your drawings.

  5. And that's supposed to be "love your drawings."

  6. Woah, that really made my day.
Yes, my day isn't very cheerful or great. But this was very good.

The conflict between the teacher and the girl was a bit hasty... But that conflict was not really the main part either. That was all, I really like it.

  7. and now that I read it again the conflict between the teacher and the girl seems well balanced, I must be tired...
